Beoljubu

Beoljubu-jeon (The Tale of the Turtle and the Hare) is a classic Korean satirical fable from the late Joseon Dynasty that uses anthropomorphic animals to allegorize human society. In this traditional tale, a clever rabbit is lured to the underwater Dragon Palace by a loyal turtle seeking its liver to cure the ailing Dragon King. Upon discovering the danger, the rabbit narrowly escapes by wittily claiming it left its liver back on land.

This motion graphics piece is a title sequence for Beoljubu-jeon. The core visual concept captures "a turtle’s journey to find a rabbit, and a rabbit’s effort to escape." Utilizing the letters of the title "Beoljubu," the design integrates a forest background where the turtle relentlessly pursues the rabbit, bringing the classic chase to life through dynamic and engaging animation.
